Back by popular demand, Children’s Theatre of Livingston (CTL ) is excited to offer acting classes this summer. For the last four years, they have presented Theatre-Acting-Improv classes early evening to small groups of children. CTL finds that 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm is the perfect wrap up to a day after camp or a leisurely summer day.

Livingston students grades rising 2nd grade – rising 6th grade are invited to join CTL in these hour long classes, either Tuesday or Wednesday evenings 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm.

The locations will be announced in a confirmation email. Enrollment is online only, on a first come, first served basis. Many of the children in our classes, go on to perform in our Spring Show, most recently A Year with Frog and Toad Kids.

The class is taught by CTL Veteran Director, Ellen Margolies and assisted by Martha Ackermann. This fun hour includes acting, role play, theater games, audition skills, show skits and lots of interesting improv. It’s all about trying new things, in a casual setting and helping to build confidence.

Classes begin Tuesday, July 5th or Wednesday, July 6th and last for six weeks.

Children’s Theatre of Livingston (CTL) was created by Fatima Calcado, a Livingston parent, who had a vision to create a children’s theater group that gave young children the opportunity to experience theater.

Her enthusiasm for theatre was shared by other like-minded volunteers and has evolved over the last 17 years into a thriving theatre group that offers year round programs for young children.

To date over 1400 children have had the chance to be actors, stage crew or play in the orchestra.

CTL is proudly sponsored by the Livingston Board of Education, The Livingston Town Council and are proud members of Healthy Community Healthy Youth (HCHY) and The Arts Council of Livingston.
